M-Pesa bulk payment for farm workers, in one tap

Payroll is computed, you confirm once, and Safaricom Daraja B2C sends wages to every worker's phone.

What is one-tap M-Pesa bulk payout?

It is the last step of a payroll run, not a separate errand. Once attendance and piece-rate wages are confirmed and statutory deductions are applied, one tap sends every worker's wage to their phone via Safaricom Daraja B2C. It is live in production at Mulinga Coffee Estate today, and it is an Estate-tier feature.

What actually happens when you tap "Pay"?

The system computes each worker's final wage from attendance and piece-rate records, itemizes deductions, and presents the full payroll run for review. You confirm once. From there, Daraja B2C pushes the payment directly to each registered phone number — no manual entry per worker, no bank withdrawal queue, no cash on the farm.

  • Compute: wages calculated from attendance + piece-rate + deductions
  • Confirm: one review, one tap, for the whole payroll run
  • Pay: Safaricom Daraja B2C sends to every worker's phone

Is there a record of what was paid?

Every payout run leaves a receipt and an audit trail — who was paid, how much, and against which attendance and deduction records. That is the same audit discipline MkulimaOS applies to cooperative settlement: a number should always be traceable back to the record that produced it.

Why bulk payout instead of cash or bank transfer?

Cash payday on a farm means a physical cash run, a queue, and a reconciliation gap. Bank transfer means workers without formal bank accounts get left out. M-Pesa reaches almost every worker's phone directly, and bulk payout turns a day of manual disbursement into one confirmed batch.

Which M-Pesa integration do you use?

Safaricom Daraja — B2C bulk payout for wages. It is live in production at Mulinga Coffee Estate.

Is bulk M-Pesa payout available on every plan?

One-tap M-Pesa B2C bulk payout is an Estate-tier feature (KES 9,000/month). Lite and Grow do not include it.

Is there proof of payment for each worker?

Yes — each payout run produces a receipt and an audit trail tied to the underlying attendance and deduction records.
